Michaela Leier, Postpartum Doula

My name is Michaela and I am a trained Postpartum Doula. I am passionate about the work I do as a doula and think it is so important for every family to have the support they need when bringing home a new baby. I believe each family is different and that each family requires unique support to fit their needs. I have had the pleasure of working with babies and their families for the past 5 years as a postpartum doula.

In my free time I enjoy exploring all that the South Sound has to offer with my husband, our two children and our two Golden Retrievers. We love getting out for hikes and exploring local breweries and eateries. I am an avid sailor and love being on the water!

Remember how a few months ago I posted that I would try be more active on here? HA! Motherhood has its way of tricking you and taking over every ounce of energy you have. And then poof, 4 months have gone by and you haven’t even opened your business accounts (oops). Babies are all consuming no matter the age. I have been lucky enough to be at home with Thea since she was born, but my business has definitely taken the back burner for the past 9 months (holy crap I have a 9month old?!). As of now my plan is to slowly start working again in a few months. I can’t help it, I miss it too much. I feel called to this work and now I feel I have a whole new perspective on it after living (and still living) my own postpartum journey. So let’s try this again shall we? Hello, my name is Michaela. It’s been forever since I’ve posted on here, and I apologize for that. About a year ago I found out I was pregnant with my very own rainbow baby! Social media took a back burner as I navigated pregnancy and work all in the midst of a global pandemic. In April I welcomed my daughter, Thea Jane, after a long and high risk pregnancy. Now I find myself struggling to navigate through my own postpartum journey all while still in the midst of a global pandemic. I am hoping to post here more often and become more active on social media again. I miss the birth and postpartum community and I’m excited to dive back in. Thank you for being patient with me!

Breakfast is always a meal that I have struggled with. Whether I’m racing out the door or just getting home from helping an overnight client, making breakfast seems to be the least of my worries! However breakfast is so important to get your day started on the right track. Especially if you are a parent and taking care of tiny humans all day, it’s important to make sure YOU are fed and nourished as well. • A yummy breakfast that I recently have gotten into is overnight oats! They are so easy to prep the night before (I usually make a couple to have for a few days) and so delicious! It is a good way to get a solid chunk of sleep and wake up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the world, one diaper change at a time ✨ During the night while your baby sleeps I tidy up the house, do a few loads of laundry and if you are breastfeeding I bring baby to you when she is ready to eat so you never have to leave the comfort of your own bed.
